ou have walked forty days with the Lord through this
devotional. You have traveled from the Triumphal
Entry to the empty tomb, from Palm Sunday to
Resurrection Sunday, from the crowds lining the streets of
Jerusalem to the disciples fishing on the wrong side of the
boat. Along the way, you have been challenged to proclaim
the gospel and praise the God who makes all things new.
The journey does not end here. Abiding in Christ is a
lifetime commitment. David understood this. In every season
of his life, whether he was running from his enemies or sitting
on the throne of Israel, he kept coming back to the same
conviction: he wanted to dwell in the house of the Lord. That
is the heartbeat of Psalm 27.
Read it slowly. Read it again. Let these words become
your own as you move forward from this Lenten season into
the everyday life of a follower of Jesus Christ.
