The Road to Emmaus
As they talked and discussed these things with each other,
Jesus himself came up and walked along with them.

n this account, Jesus has already been resurrected. Now
we join up with Cleopas and his nameless companion
walking to the suburbs of Emmaus. Seven miles outside
Jerusalem, they are discussing in detail what took place from
Friday to this day. The conclusion these two followers of
Jesus have reached is that the Promised One who died on
the cross cannot be who He claims to be. So, they are walking
into the sunset of disappointment. As they9re walking,
suddenly they9re joined by a stranger. These travelers now
