Proclaim and Praise Lent Devotional - Book - Page 58

Just as the disciples did not recognize Jesus at first, we,
too, might overlook His presence during times of grief or
uncertainty4moments when it feels as if all hope is lost.
Often, we struggle to see Jesus in our circumstances until He
speaks to our hearts or does something that only He can do.
When we pause to reflect or pray, we may begin to notice
signs of His guidance. We must remember that Jesus
promised never to leave us or forsake us. This is the
assurance we can offer to a world in need. No matter how lost
we feel, recalling Jesus' promise can bring light into our
darkest moments. By sharing this assurance with others, we
can help them find hope as well.
Heavenly Father, some days are so dark and distressing that
we do not recognize You anymore, although You are moving
on our behalf. During those times, we cling to that steadfast
promise You give to all Your disciples: You will never leave
nor forsake us. Open our spiritual eyes so we can recognize
You in every situation, no matter how bad it looks on the
surface. In Jesus9 name, Amen.
