Early to Rise
I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in
your word.

n this first day the people who came to the tomb
arrived very early. It9s interesting that one New
Testament scholar says that both death and
resurrection take place in the darkness. Indeed, there are
some things so sacred that even sunlight removes their
beauty. On this special morning, death and darkness and
resurrection occurred simultaneously in the darkness. They
both happened on the first day, early in the morning. In my
home church our sunrise service once started at 4:00 A.M. I
recently asked their current pastor, Pastor William Jordan, if
they still held sunrise services at that time. He replied,
